I love this place. waitresses have worked here for decades, know people by name. very friendly and efficient. small diner-like place, only breakfast and lunch, but always busy. food is always good. cozy and homey even when full and noisy!! good prices, worth the visit.

GREAT BREAKFAST!!! Im addicted to the Pancake. (That's singular on purpose. You only need one!) My favorite breakfast getaway. Try it for yourself!

Yankee coffee shop is a very quaint little breakfast and lunch bar that you can go to and meet people and talk and have a great time eating. The service is good. The servers are nice. The price is reasonable.

If you're looking for a "secret spot" known only to the locals, this is it. It's a little hole-in-wall in a nondescript strip mall. The interior doesn't look like it's been updated in 50 years, and the patrons might look at you a little oddly when you first walk in. But the FOOD. You come here for the food. It's great diner food, breakfast included. The sandwiches are well made. The eggs come out just the way you ordered them. I can say it enough. This is great food! So in one sense, I hope you discover this place. They deserve the reputation. In another sense, I hope you don't try the Yankee because that means I won't have to wait for my favorite both at lunch. Cheers!

I.have been eating here since 1972. Great service, the best sausage in the state my gosh it is their recipe. The pancakes are the best around and you never go home hungry.

I didn't get to eat here which is unfortunate. The reason being I was quite disgusted by watching ice fall on the floor a server pick it up with her hands wipe her hands off on her apron and then proceed to fill peoples drinks.

Food is decent, and when i place a pickup order its always ready on time....only think if you wanna eat in it is tight...other than that....cool for break3

Might have just been a bad day, but there was a distasteful oder which made breakfast a bit unplessent.Omlet was OK. As were the potatoes and biskets. I think maybe a bit more seasoning would help.

Family style restaurant with Louise, the owner and Chef. Nancy, Linda and several others waiting on the clientele. You feel like you are right at home! All food is fantastic. Coffee best in town! I love this restaurant and the ladies that treat all as though we were royalty!

My mom and dad loved going here. It has good prices and a good variety on the menu.

While the staff was very sweet, I have no idea why this place stays packed except for tradition. It's extremely old fashioned which I can love and appreciate but the food was just not very good. There are other establishments in the Petersburg/Hopewell area that have a storied history but that also serve better food. I hate posting not glowing reviews but I also want to tell the truth.

In my time dining at Yankee coffee shop, I was blessed to sit right in the middle of all of the action. The staff works together superbly like a well oiled engine, the food was prepared tingly, and was absolutely delicious, and my overall experience was 100% worth a 5 star rating! Super impressed and hope to have the opportunity to return, if not, I may just have to make the opportunity to return, lol

A little hole in the wall type of cafe. Small shop. Everybody seems to know each other and that's pretty cool. Very nice staff. Food is better than average, for sure.

Good down home cooking with friendly service!

I stopped here in the morning for breakfast, it was great, good food and great service. Don't let the outside fool you or the fact it's on a busy road and you may drive right past. The food was great and a good choice on their menu. There were three of us and each had something different and they were all very good.

This is a old fashioned coffee shop with good home cooked food. It's a small place where everybody knows everybody and old friends come together to talk over a cup of coffee. The staff is very attentive.

They always go out of their way to help their customers. Mom and I used to go here at least once or twice a week. When she couldn't go any more the ladies made sure her to go order was perfect for her.

Looking for another place for early Sunday breakfast before leaving for home. Great pancakes, waffles with all the breakfast meats. Many different egg dishes prepared to your choice of style with hash, potatoes or grits. Biscuits were delicious, too. Seems to be a great meeting place for the locals.
